Begin with UNFOLD
Each turn fills two paper panels with symbols. The game compares the left and right folds, including their symbols, tools and receiving seals, then selects the higher-scoring result automatically. You do not need to drag the paper or choose a direction.
Read across the crease
Each panel has two columns and three rows. Folding brings opposite cells together. Matching components form overlaps; complete figures create stronger combinations. Seals on the receiving paper modify the result.
Notice the tools
Red thread on the moving paper can link an otherwise unmatched pair in the same row. Scissors on the moving paper can clear an ink knot. An ink knot on the receiving paper blocks its cell until cleared.
Meet the six spirits
A marriage contract and guiding lantern on opposite papers can awaken a Paper Bride, Paper Groom, Mist Horse, Ghost Sedan, Contract Phoenix or Lantern Attendant. The spirit occupies the winning half and continues moving until the next turn.
Continue with Echo Folds
Double Happiness marks can start a series of Echo Folds. These extra turns leave imprints that can match other symbols on the receiving paper. Remaining imprints add chapter marks at the end of the series.
Reveal the procession
Successful folds send progress into the illustration below the board. Five revealed sections complete a chapter. There are 25 chapter illustrations to uncover. Open the Scroll Archive to revisit their details and the keepsakes you have found.
